Overview

Dr. Marcus Pezzolesi is an Associate Professor in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension and the Diabetes and Metabolism Center at the University of Utah, where his research leverages unique resources at the University of Utah, including extensive electronic medical record data and genealogy data, and integrates these with next-generation sequencing data and other ‘omics’ data to investigate the basis of diabetes and diabetic kidney disease. Prior to establishing hislab at the University of Utah in the Fall of 2016, Marcus was a junior faculty member in the laboratory of Dr. Andrzej Krolewski at the Joslin Diabetes Center, where he also completed his post-doctoral training.

In his spare time, Marcus enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, skiing, hiking, and watching the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and Boston Bruins.
