Tara Price

Postdoc Fellow

Overview

Tara Price is a postdoctoral fellow in the Division of Nephrology at the University of Utah, specializing in functional validation of variants associated with cardiovascular, kidney, and metabolic disease among Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. Her current project utilizes donor-derived induced pluripotent stem cells Prior to joining the Pezzolesi lab, Tara completed her PhD in Nutrition at Texas A&M University, where she investigated the role of diet on intestinal health and cardiovascular disease risk. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, investigating genetic drivers of lipid metabolism using a genetically diverse mouse model.

Outside of the lab, Tara enjoys exploring nature while hiking, watching college sports and baking.
